Jaguar R-D6 Concept

jaguar

It is a vision of the future of premium motoring: beautiful, fast, agile, efficient and fun. Unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show, the R-D6 showcases Jaguar´s latest technology in a lightweight vehicle structure, as well as the performance and refinement of its new diesel engine range. The compact, four-seater coupe is the product of a select team of ground-breaking designers and signifies the pure, sensuous and sporting design that will mark future Jaguars.

Mated to a six-speed manual transmission, the twin-turbocharged V-6 diesel engine generates 230 bhp and roughly 369 lb.-ft. of torque. It can rocket the coupe from zero to 60 mph in less than six seconds with all the grace and agility of a true Jaguar. The cat´s top speed is electronically limited to 155 mph.

The R-D6 rides on 21-in. wheels that are machined from solid aluminum built specifically for this vehicle. Set among sweeping lines and artistic shapes, its headlights are a modern interpretation of Jaguar´s classic twin-lamp style. Twin-pipe exhausts are centrally mounted at the rear, and just atop, the iconic leaper has found a new perch at the back of the car.

Aluminum is featured extensively, along with two types of rich leather draping across the interior: lightly grained, carbon-black aniline and 8-mm thick black saddle leather. Natural satin-finish Black American Walnut veneer sweeps not only across the door panels, dash and console, but also underneath your feet.
